Physicians
Mrs. Grosjean has over 25 years experience. She is among the few physicians, who graduated first in Europe and in North America. In 1980, in France, she won the Jury Prize for her thesis in medicine.
That same year she created a family medicine clinic where she practiced for 19 years. At the same time, having obtained a specialty in gerontology and geriatrics, she ran a center for convalescence and long term care with 47 hospital beds.
Upon arriving in Quebec, she perfected her knowledge in emergency medicine and worked full time in the emergency ward of Val d’Or Hospital, where she was head of the department for 4 years.
She now has the pleasure of sharing her knowledge with you through Privamed, a Family Medicine Clinic which she founded with Dr Nathalie Nicloux.
In 1996, she was immediately selected by the University of Montreal where she completed you studies in medicine. Thereafter she practiced medicine for 4 years at Val d’Or Hospital. She shared her time between the emergency room, the intensive care unit and patient follow-ups at the hospital and with a medical clinic. She devoted a lot of her time to pediatrics.
Since the beginning of her practice she was involved in teaching residents and was appointed head of teaching for 3 years.
In Val d’Or she had the opportunity of working side by side with Dr Grosjean for 4 years. Both Doctors have the same vision and their patients appreciated the collaboration.
Nurses
A registered nurse since 1997, Christine Proulx started her career in a private clinic in Montreal. She was rapidly recruited by the CHUM Ste-Justine, the highly respected children’s hospital, where she worked for 12 years in paediatrics medicine as well as the emergency.
Her last years at Ste-Justine were spent in the operating rooms.
During her career, Ms Proulx also had the opportunity to participate in two trips for humanitarian aid in Haiti teaching health care.
She is delighted to share her wealth of knowledge in the fields of general, specialised, paediatric as well as prenatal care. She will also be in charge of our prenatal classes.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Laval in Quebec, Marie-Christine started her career at the CHUL and at St-Sacrement Hospital.
She developed her expertise in pediatrics and oncology.
For Ms Lavoie her desire to teach has always been her main interest, since it offers her the opportunity to improve people’s health.
She also had the chance to do community work at a CLSC where she learned many things about healthcare for the elderly.
It is therefore with many different skills that Marie-Christine joins our team to offer you the best possible patient care.
Secretaries
After Studying in Hotel management, Joanne Frédricks had the opportunity of working at the Ritz Carlton Montréal.
During her 20 years at the Ritz Carlton she worked at the Front desk, in the reservation department where she was promoted to guest recognition coordinator.
She considers herself privileged to have worked in an establishment where the highest standards of service are expected by all.
The Ritz Carlton motto is: We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen and I take that philosophy with me in my role as secretary/receptionist at Privamed.
While pursuing her studies in specialized education, Marie-Pier Surprenant also held a part-time job in a private medical clinic.
She developed an interest in the medical field and decided to re-direct her career to become a full time medical secretary.
While studying and working part time Marie-Pier had many occasions to work with computers and improve her skills, which allowed her to adapt very quickly to new and updated software.
Today, Marie-Pier is very passionate about working at Privamed, since she is able to participate in the clinic's administrative and medical informatisation. She can evolve and learn more about the computer technology required in all aspects of a medical clinic as well as work in an environment where she can share her experience and talent as a secretary/receptionist.
